Chester

Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Age: 4 1/2 years
History: Chester came to Boot Camp from ‘Happy Staffie Rescue’ as they were worried about his anxious behaviour that was escalating in kennels. Although he was looking for a home for a while nobody offered him a home so the Dog Trouble Pack welcomed him in and it seems he’s staying now!
Likes: Another Sun Worshipper! He loves finding a sunny spot or curling up in his bed in front of the radiator. He’s crazy about bananas aswell!
Issues: Chester was very anxious around other dogs and generally just didn’t know how to chill out. For the first 2 months he was eating faeces, being sick and not quite there with the toilet training! He also had to learn how to use his nose and greet other dogs without panicking, something he’s getting more confident with every day!

Alfie
Gender: Male
Breed: Springer Spaniel
Age: 4 years
History: Owned from a puppy by a family who decided that he would be happier living with the Dog Trouble Pack.
Likes: Loves his exercise, swimming, playing ball and being a Springer Sniffer !
Issues: Loud Noises eg cooker timer, thunder storms. Protective over food.

Freddy (previously named ‘Scamp’)
Gender: Male
Breed: Jack Russell Terrier
Age: 2 years
History: He spent 3 months in The Dogs Trust Newbury Centre. Freddy was mildly fearful of unknown environments, some people and objects and has obviously learned to react with a ‘fight’ response when being in situations where he feels threatened. Due to this he came to us with typical ‘Little Dog’ syndrome doing his own thing!
Likes: He loves running and for a dog with short legs he’s fast ! He loves playing ball with the pack and shadowing Alfie out on walks. His ‘cat bed’ is his favourite sleeping place and Max is his play mate!
Issues: He is learning not to react with a bite when being handled and around children. Obviously being a Terrier he also has potential to get obsessed with a tennis ball and chasing cars but is getting better day by day!

Max
Gender: Male
Breed: Springer Spaniel X Collie
Age: 11 years
History: Owned from a puppy
Likes: Any social gathering where there are lots of children. Loves Hide and Seek games in the long grass and loves playing with Freddy. He can often be found just standing in the paddling pool like a Hippo cooling off!
Issues: Watches shadows and reflections if not given enough mental exercise!

Ellie
Gender: Female
Breed: Unknown
Age: Approx 9 years
History: Rescue dog from Dbarc Rescue.
Likes: Finding a sunny spot to relax, playing ball and swimming.
Issues: Thunderstorms and overexcited or dominant dogs!

Auste
Gender: Female
Breed: Black Labrador
Age: 4
History: Auste was in Boot Camp for 3 months to work on her Food aggression and Territorial behaviour. Although she did brilliantly and was ready to go home it was a case of the wrong match between owners and dog. So her owners felt she would be happier joining the Pack permanently.
Likes: Food, playing ball, playing with gentle energy dogs, sniffing the air laying on the grass!
Issues: Gets nervous around dogs that are rude!
