We have now expanded our services to include Dog Grooming at The Dog Psychology Centre. Clare Brown who has worked with me for a while now is also a qualified Dog Groomer so we have created our own Dog Grooming Room. This service is open to any dog owners not just Dog Trouble clients. Clare provides a dog grooming service dedicated to ensuring each dog has a positive and enjoyable experience whilst being groomed. Clare has the experience of understanding and working with dogs with behaviour issues and therefore welcomes any dogs who exhibit nervous or aggressive behaviour whilst being groomed. Your dog is guaranteed to have a personal, caring and excellent standard of grooming at The Dog Trouble Grooming Room!

The Family Pack Walk held at Ascot Heath on Saturday was a great success. With a mixture of clients and general public we walked for over an hour with most people getting the opportunity to experience walking a Pack of dogs. A number of dogs that attended had previously displayed behaviour issues around aggression with people and/or dogs so seeing them calmly walking with their owners was a great treat for me! As promised, Dog Trouble and Paws Around Berkshire have teamed up to organise our very own local Pack Walk enabling families and dogs to come together and share something very special: walking in the same direction with a common purpose. If you have ever dreamed about taking your dog on a proper Pack Walk, then this is your chance!
The details have now been finalised and the walk will take place on Saturday October 27th, starting at 11am on Ascot Heath which, for anyone who hasn’t been there before, is right in the centre of Ascot Racecourse.
We’ve been assured that there is plenty of parking in Car Park 3, which is off the A329 High Street almost directly opposite the main entrance to the grandstand (see map*). To get to the heath from the car park, you will need to cross the High Street – there is a pedestrian crossing – and then go under the Heath Tunnel underpass. We will meet up on the heath by the exit to this tunnel shortly before 11am. We expect to be walking for about an hour and a half. All dogs will be required to walk on-lead and must be able to walk calmly with other dogs without aggression. There are a number of bins around the heath, but please don’t forget to bring plenty of poop bags and maybe a water bottle/bowl in case your dog gets thirsty.
Dog Trouble is owned and run by Dog Behaviourist Jo Cottrell and Jo will be aiming to meet up with everyone and offer some great tips on being a calm, assertive Pack Leader while you walk! We are also very excited to announce the launch of Jo’s new charity, Dog Trouble Foundation, which will be dedicated to rehabilitating problem dogs in care and/or those living with low-income families. To support this great cause, we are asking all walkers to donate a registration fee of £10 per dog to the foundation.

Berkshire. RG40 3AP along with your cheque for £10 made payable to Dog Trouble. Alternatively, you may complete the form electronically and mail it back to us at jocottrell@dogtrouble.co.uk in which case your registration fee can be paid via PayPal at the same email address. Please mark your email clearly as ‘Family Pack Walk 2012?.

We ran our first Junior Pack Leader Course this week with 6 young people aged between 6-12 years and it was so much fun! They each learned how to care for their dog’s health and nutrition, including cleaning their ears!; Dog behaviour; Walking their dog; Dog agility; Swimming and how to stay safe around dogs. I spent 3 days just being amazed at what they achieved and how well their dogs responded to them…..I can’t wait to run the next one in the Autumn!
